Take 5 with Ennio Capasa

Ennio Capasa is an Italian fashion designer who created CoSTUME NATIONAL in 1986. Stars like Mick Jagger, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson and Brad Pitt have all rocked his designs. He's a busy guy but ShoesTV got Capasa to sit down and "Take 5" for us.

Ennio Capasa
Capasa has rock solid fashion cred. He studied at Milan's Accademia de Brera and later moved to Tokyo and worked with Yohji Yamamoto for two years. He is inspired by rock 'n' roll, Italian cinema from the 1960's and body art among other things and while Capasa creates clothes, perfume and accessories under the CoSTUME NATIONAL label, we wanted the low down on his hot SS12 shoes.

ShoesTV: Why do you love working in fashion?
EC: I really don’t know. I have just liked it forever.

ShoesTV: What inspires your footwear designs?
EC: The tridimensional possibility. I think shoes are like sculptures.

ShoesTV: What are the big fashion footwear trends for SS12?
EC: The biggest fashion footwear trends for SS 2012 are the sexy minimal sandals that I have shown on the catwalk in my latest collection.

ShoesTV: What is your favorite shoe in your current collection?
EC: All of them.

ShoesTV: Which five pairs of shoes would you bring along with you if you were packing for a trip around the world?
EC: I would bring CoSTUME NATIONAL HOMME shoes, one for each occasion. One elegant pair, one urban pair, one sporty pair, some boots and a pair of sandals.
