Students Stomp on UGG Boots Ban

An boot ban turned ugly in a small Pennsylvania town where middle school students rallied to win back the right to rock their UGG boots.

Pottstown Middle School banned these comfy, cozy UGG boots.
Pottstown Middle School principal Gail Cooper's ban on the populare boots provoked media attention, an online twitter campaign, and threats against her kids.
The UK Company, Whooga ugg boots, thought it was funny when Cooper claimed students smuggled cell phones in the boots. They started an online petition to un-ban the boots and vowed that if they got enough signatures, they would send a pair of their Chesnut Tall UGG Boots to Cooper with the petition signatures tucked inside. As you can imagine, the campaign went viral.
Whooga was still planning to stuff 99 pages of electronic signatures into a boot, when they heard that participants had threatened Cooper's kids. They immediately stopped trying to find Cooper’s shoe size and ended the campaign.

Whooga poked fun at smuggling in this photo on their twitter page.
After all the craziness, Whooga technical director Michael Hodge said, "UGG boots have been a controversial item for over a decade now and they continue to attract intense debate. We believe the events were an unfortunately potent mix of Australian humour and a polarizing Australian icon. In any event UGG boots are UGG boots and something we simply need to put into perspective."
Here at ShoesTV, we encourage you to enjoy your UGG boots peacefully.
