Through February 21st, Stride Rite is inviting families to take part in educational events that will provide expert fittings for children and teach families the importance of finding the right shoes for children's foot development. At these events families can also receive a measurement record card and shoe shopping tips.

Some tips from Stride Rite and the American Podiatric Medical Association include:
- Have your child's feet measured every 2-3 months until toddler years, then every 3-4 months.
- Make sure the shoe isn't too heavy. A heavy shoe can make your child walk irregularly, preventing the development of a normal walking pattern.
