Just when we all thought that there was no better treat than a long, hot soak in the bathtub, a Stiletto Success Story came along and found a way to actually make it better!

Teneshia LaRoda
What’s a Stiletto Success Story? Well, it’s not so much a “what” as it is a “who.” It’s an entrepreneuer who does it all—juggles her business and family life while managing to maintain her sanity. In other words; she is a stiletto: Feminine. Fabulous. Stands tall, and always always gets the job done.
For our first Stiletto Success Story, we’ve chosen to highlight the achievements of Teneshia LaRoda, founder of Treat Me! Bath and Body Products.

Country Orange Spice Pound Cake Soap
What inspired you to create this collection?
TL: I am a lover of food and sweet things, but I don't always like the results! So, I wanted to make something that you could enjoy without packing on any extra calories.
How long did it take for this business to come to fruition?
TL: Believe it or not it took about two weeks--start to finish. I was actually working on another business venture when God dropped Treat Me! in my lap. My life took a completely different turn and I ran with it.

Mint Chocolate Dream Soap
Which Treat Me! product is your favorite?
TL: My favorite item is the Spot of Tea herbal tea baths. I call it my "mommy project," because as a busy mom I don't always have the time or the funds to spend on a luxurious spa. So, I developed the teas originally as a way to give myself that spa experience.
What are your biggest sellers?
TL: The cupcakes, the Soapsicles, and the body mousse. I think that the cupcakes and the Soapsicles are so popular because they're so fun and totally remind you of your favorite sweet treats. And people love the body mousse because it’s so moisturizing and nourishing.

Do you have any advice for women who are thinking of starting up a business of their own?
TL: Don’t think too much. Just do it! I'm not saying to avoid creating a business plan, but a plan should be creating steps towards a goal. For example, you can tell yourself, ‘Today I am going to get my business license, or tomorrow I am going to spend one hour developing my product.’ It won't happen overnight, but remember that every day is an opportunity for you to do something great!
