Sneak of the Week: The Nike Foamposite Galaxy

Our Sneak of the Week pick was a no brainer for us. Over 80 people are camped outside the West 33rd Street Footlocker in New York City right now awaiting The Nike Foamposite Galaxy’s release this Friday. While the ShoesTV team is busy working and couldn't camp out if we wanted to--the Galaxy has us a little starry-eyed.

The Nike Foamposite Galaxy goes into orbit Friday.
The Nike Foamposite Galaxy pays tribute to Orlando, FL, home of the Kennedy Space Center and this year’s NBA All-Star Game. The sides are black, blue and purple with white stars. The stars sparkle like a little slice of the night sky. The shoe also has a black mesh tongue and black laces.
Besides the stars, what we really love about the Nike Foamposite Galaxy are the translucent, glow-in the dark soles. While the photos do show off the bright blue glow, we can’t wait to see these things in the flesh!

Get in line! They'll sell at light speed!
Henry Albarez, who is camped outside the West 33rd Street Footlocker, drove from Pennsylvania with three friends to get his feet into a pair of Galaxys.
“We brush our teeth and spit into the street and we bought wet wipes," he said. "We have peanut butter, beef jerky, and like, five liters of water,” For a shoe so out of this world, sleep deprivation and $220 are a small price to pay.
