Model Erin Wasson is New Face of Rockport Shoes

Model Erin Wasson is often lauded for her edgy style and fashion sense and has designed capsule collections for RVCA and Zadig & Voltaire. In a surprising move, Rockport shoes has just tapped Wasson to front their Fall 2012 campaign launching September 1 called "A Day in the Life of a Model." Whle not known for edginess, Rockport shoes hopes Wasson will help them appeal to metropolitan professionals as well as the fashion crowd.

“Rockport is an authentic American brand which is important to me, being from Texas. At our first meeting," Erin Wasson said. "I was wowed to see how fashionable they had become. The idea of enabling women to have great heels with athletic technology for maximum comfort and style is the perfect ten."

The campaign will chronicle Wasson during a day in her life in New York City in which she will be wearing Rockport shoes from the Fall 2012 Collection. Wasson's day begins in the morning with a photo shoot in a SoHo loft in New York City and then moves to the street while she wanders around at night.

"We selected Erin because she embodies the active on-the-go lifestyle of our target consumer, the metropolitan professional," Rockport Senior Vice President of product and brand management Daniel Tschuemperlin said. " As a model, actress and entrepreneur, she will resonate with both our metropolitan professional target consumer and the fashion set alike,” Tschuemperlin continued.
