Never one to opt for an understatement, Miista's Laura Villasenin has released a spring /summer 2012 lookbook reminiscent of a day of the dead celebration set to inspire our own Mexican folklore shoe party.

Lookbook photography featuring model Andrea Röfn
Scattered flower petals, paper mache skulls and serape throw blankets adorn the landscape which serves as the perfect setting for the debut of Miista's spring/summer 2012 collection. The lookbook was shoot in the Icelandic home of photographer Saga Sig, who has worked with Miista three times before.

The Alka
Villasenin blends the season’s blues, oranges, and yellows onto a series of distinct chunky wooden heels with hidden platforms. The Alka, which comes in turquoise, black and camel smooth leather, has the kind of heel you want to grasp onto and thrust into the air through a fist pump.

The Brenda
The collection's Western-inspired theme is best exemplified through the Brenda, which mixes patchwork detail in the beige, burnt orange and tangerine style, as well as the black design. The Brenda is easily transferrable from Amarillo to Astoria.

The Andrea
Inca tribal detailing adds a pop of color to the Andrea, the hybrid sandal/bootie starlet of the collection. Available in camel and eggshell, if you can only buy one Miista style this spring, the Andrea must be it.
